well, as intense a jazz fan as i can be, i suppose. i know a few players names, like to watch games with my boys, and the like.
i even really like their new/retro, throwback jerseys - in honor of going 'green'.
how new jerseys do this? i do not know. but they can rock em like none other. plus i'm a sucker for green and yellow.

last night, boyfriend jame, cousin ty, xerxes and i went to the jazz game. xerxes held down the crv, while we all had awesome seats in the stadium. jazz were playing a team named the cav's, which has lebron james on it. and shaq, who apparently is still alive and well enough to be playing basketball. i thought he has grandkids by now, but apparently not.
it was a very very good game. on the way back home, jamison asked me to recount the last 6 minutes of the game for him, through my thoughts. i'll recount my thoughts of the game for us all.
pre-game: "that jazz bear seems quite small; is it a little person or a child in that bear suit?
pre-game: "hey, that's johnny depp! what is he doing here? oh yeah, sundance. those tickets are sure expensive. gosh, i bet he's all pissed off now - with that fedora and sunglasses, i'm guessing he didn't want to be recognized. and now he's on the jumbo screen."
warm-ups: "they only get 20 minutes to warm up? that does not seem efficient.... wow, they are quite graceful doing their jumping and shooting"
national anthem: "i wonder if she has to sing the national anthem in a set time? because all of her grandeur and elongation of certain words will certainly mess with TNT's scheduling... do they have like red or green lights, telling her to speed up or slow down certain words?"
intro: "wow, lebron james only went to high school? that's embarrassing."

first quarter: "i bet that guy can rock a pretty good skinny jean. he might even pull off the indie look quite well."

first quarter: "i think that bear is definitely a little person - or a child with extremely bowed legs."
second quarter: "where is the bathroom?"
second quarter: "i don't think anyone in the family next to jamison has spoken yet... they look like robots, just starting forward at the game."
time-out break: "i wonder if the bear has ever broken a sign with that tee-shirt launcher... that looks powerful"
half-time: "hey, is that president monson? what is he doing here? i wonder what he is thinking right now."
third quarter: "wow, it's getting late. i'm tired. they've only scored 60 points? that seems kinda low."
third quarter: "jeez... that family still has not moved. or said a word, let alone. they must be deaf"
fourth quarter: "this game is getting pretty intense"
all in all, the game was great. quite the buzzer beater. due to some choice words that jamison and tyler exchanged with an intoxicated cavs fan, our honor was resting upon the jazz victory. and boy, they didn't let us down. people even came up and congratulated ty for standing his ground - by the amount of attention he got, you would have thought that ty won the game.
maybe he did.
it was a late, but eventful, night. xerxes recovering the next morning:

he has a rough life.
