Home

going to my parent's house is always wonderful.
and for a variety of reasons that i have listed here:

1. due to the lack of siblings, my bedroom is always there. just how i left it, too. seriously - my tear the day away calender is forever stuck at 25 august 2007, the apparent day i left the nest. another calender on my wall forever reads from july of '07 (i went to greece, and my calender turning skills apparently were left in europe)

2. because my bedroom is always there, i make it a point to rotate clothes. that shirt has not been worn in utah lately? it comes with me to my next trip to san diego - and stays. this means that i am always rediscovering clothes, shoes, etc. just lovely.

3. amber romance, my high school perfume, stays in california. due to ridiculous travel restrictions, i fear to bring my college-scented self (burberry brit) home. so, with my eyes closed, i'm my high school self again.

4. own room AND own bathroom. i no longer have stage fright. plus, no fighting over shower time or hot water.

5. san diego is a tropical paradise that i live in. recently i've begun, when pulling into the airport, looking out of the window and thinking to myself "people vacation here. i lived here."
how awesome is that?

6. excellent weather. i get to go home and de-thaw. wonderful.

7. the parental units. they have become a lot more fun and cool people since i moved away. i don't know if i've matured or just needed a little space (maybe a little of both?) but i feel that i have a relationship with my momma and dad that is independent of whatever biological ties we may share. i've 'seen the light' and now see them as people; friends. really funny people, at that.
note: according to my adolescent development studies, children generally begin to see their parents as people at age 15. so i'm well behind the curve on that one.

8. tons of things to do! sea world! disneyland! beach! shop at outlet malls! eat all the delish sea food!

ok now i'm just procrastinating. i have a test rather soon. so... we all get the jist of it.
