date night(s)

i've had such lovely times with mr. jamison lately. this past friday, after his gym and my relaxing time, we were hungry (duh). i had been hoping to make pf chang style chicken lettuce wraps together, but a quick scan of the ingredients revealed that this would be quite expensive to make from home (as we had none of the specialized ingredients). so, we decided to hop in the car an try a new restaurant, pizza pie cafe.

yum yum. although i'll admit, i was a little nervous going to a pizza buffet (or any buffet, for that matter), the reviews we read online prior to going were positive. so we jumped in the car, hoping to beat the friday night date crowd. you know, the crowd where everyone is all dressed to the nine's, anxiously eyeing not only their date, but other people in the restaurant, just so that they can (as jame says) "see what everyone's workin with".

i laughed, as technically our age makes us part of that crowd. but jamison reminded me that we're past that kind of dating, and we're now the dating where we prefer to eat with quieter (and more entertaining) families and older folks. sometimes its fun to people watch little kids and parents... and who wants to eat dinner later than 6, anyways?!?!

so we got there just in time to beat even the family with screaming kid crowd, and just as the last of the elder early birds were leaving their tables, and if we texted some number we got two free fountain drinks (yessss please!) after helping ourselves to delightfully delicious pizza selections, the manager came by our table and asked if everything was ok. we said yes, of course. he then asked if we'd like to go to a movie tonight, in the next hour. he explained that there was some type of prize, and the people who won couldn't attend the movie (the tickets were only one part of a package), and then offered the tickets to us. the christmas carol. 3-D. jim carey. 3-D. opening night. free. for reals.

off to the movies we went. i can't tell ya about the christmas carol... but where the wild things are was wonderful ;)hey... we were just trying to open up space in the new, highly awaited, more popular 3-D movie. it's a good deed...
