life is loverly

and so is a warm, snuggly bed.

around this time of year, i start pondering what i have learned during the past 365 days of blissful trials.

due to my expected graduation in the spring, i have recently been extra reflective as of late. and i have concluded:

most of my personal growth and accumulation of knowledge during my education "at university" (as my mom calls it) has been through my own effort and experience.

hard work, painful setbacks, mean people really do help you find out what you're made of.

i learned lots of lovely new facts about the world and read countless studies that i surely would not have learned/read if i had not gone to "university"

but i feel that the most valuable lessons i learned while up in the great state of you-taw (yee-haw!) were about my character, the nature of other humans, and the like.

obviously, these lessons were not always learned through the coursework of my major (human development); however, i feel that the information i learned through my studies must and will be valuable to my future!

interestingly, i feel that high school was far more academically rigorous than my course loads at the Y. yet strangely, my GPA is nowhere near my high school 4.6

overall, in my half-sleepy stupor, my learning experience can be summed up as such:

the more you know, the more painful reality can be. but even greater than that: the more you know, the less you fear what life has in store
