last night, i went to a little mentoring opportunity. they promised motivation. that promise was delivered, ten-fold. i am now just ready to throw finals to the wind in lieu of writing my business plan, which i am DETERMINED to win.
today in lecture, a lovely speaker named Tara McCausland from JoyQuest Coaching (whose logo looks surprisingly like Obama's, but that is besides the point). she also could be the long lost fraternal twin of jame's oldest sister, courtney, with their shortly-cropped dark brown curls, glasses, snow white skin, and to the point personalities.
tara had a lovely acronym that i would like to share with you, to help you accomplish all of your (wildest) dreams.
T: take time to prioritize and plan (challenge: block out 30-45 minutes to plan out your schedule each week)
I: invest in yourself (challenge: choose 1-2 things to improve on and block out time to invest in chosen areas)
M: make boundaries (challenge: choose 2-3 ways to set better boundaries in your life; practice saying NO and "It's good enough for today")
E: eliminate negative thinking (challenge: recognize, replace, and redirect negative thoughts; read/listen to positive media 30 minutes a day)
oh how much i have learned from this class and the professional speakers.
