date night

having a four legged friend is kinda like having a baby that isn't allowed inside any public buildings (unless he is wearing a nifty service vest). so, dates between j and i are limited to the duration that we can keep xerxes entertained in the car. he is quite patient - and even once lasted a great deal of a day in the car. i'm ashamed to tell you the duration, but let's just say j and i could have gone to dinner and to see the movie 'titanic'

but as i'm a bleeding heart for pets and do not want to be seen as a neglectful owner, i rarely feel good about leaving the x-man in the car if there is any other option.

saturday, there was another option. cousin ty was out, and jamison and i had dinner and a jazz game date at his house. i got all dressed up and everything.

we made a silvester salad recipe. and since j and i have different tastes, and ty doesn't like beans, jamison proclaimed we make the salad a buffet style ordeal.

he is a genius, i tell you.
