a few weeks ago i went to portland with jamison and mr. xerxes to visit the silvester family. what a lovely area portland is! i turned out to really love the area - it's so neat! jamison and i utilized most of our free time and went on a few hikes, saw the sights, and went on a speed boat tour of portland on the willamette river. the speedboat tour was mondo informative, however i ended up getting SOAKED. i did get to see my first bald eagle though! and i learned that bald eagle' nests can weigh upwards of 700 lbs. wow!
a water front mansion

can you spot the bald eagle?
the silvesters opened their home to me and mr. xerx. however, the xerxes wasn't welcomed by jamison's little bischon pup, bj. bj, despite his small stature, is the protector of the silvester home. he was not excited to have a wolf-like thing in his home! to add to the problems, xerxes thought that jamison was HIS, and was not willing to share with BJ.
b.j. silvester.
joey silvester. he was so mellow and loved xerxes right away.
mr. xerxes; taunting poor b.j. by staking claim on b.j.'s bed.
oh so beautiful rose from the rose gardens!
i was so excited to make the drive to portland. but it ended up being not nearly as exciting as i had anticipated. for some reason, i thought that idaho would be a more beautiful version of utah. while i would like to state that idaho does have it's own unique beauty, utah is the place for me ;)
